Governor of East Kalimantan at the Under2Coalition Forum in Glasgow, UK

Starting his activities in the UK, the Governor of East Kalimantan, Isran Noor, had the opportunity to deliver a statement regarding climate change efforts carried out by the East Kalimantan Provincial Government.

 

At the Under2Coalition Forum, which consists of 260 Heads of Government at the State and Provincial levels, in detail the efforts being and being programmed by East Kalimantan in an effort to transition energy from non-renewable to renewable energy and the importance of transferring green technology to local governments from developing countries, especially in East Kalimantan.

 

In the meeting that used English, Governor Isran was in front of a number of participants explaining the policies of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government regarding the environment.

 

"The East Kalimantan provincial government's commitment to the environment is unquestionable, it's just that there are frequent policy changes by the central government that must be adjusted by the regions," said Isran Noor who was present accompanied by his wife, Hj Norbaiti Isran Noor and Perusda President Director Sylva Kaltim Sejahtera Stepi Hakim, Special Staff of the Governor .

 

The Governor of East Kalimantan, Isran Noor, was invited to the UK by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLH) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI).

 

He became one of the resource persons at the 26th Indonesian Pavilion Conference of Parties (COP) United Nation Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC) in Glasgow as part of the soft diplomacy of successful climate change control in East Kalimantan.

 

The Governor invited the members to work hand in hand and exchange green technology in the energy, transportation, and industrial sectors from developed countries to developing countries. East Kalimantan is in the process of changing the paradigm from non-renewable energy to new renewable energy.
